We see a lot of wild concepts, some good, some not so good… some really bad. Regardless, we always take a few steps back and consider if there would be anyone this could benefit. This is kind of one of those. The Clipon Bottle at first seemed silly, (well, it kinda is), but being short on water is no joke… and all of a sudden it’s not so silly anymore.
Check out how it works and a few different ways it can be used off the bike…
If you have a bike without a bottle holder but enough seatpost showing, the Clipon Bottle could provide a simple way to add some hydration to your ride. To kick things off, they just launched a Kickstarter to get things into the production phase. The spring loaded, double-sided bottle simply clamps onto any roundish object and seems to be secure enough not to slip. Though maybe not practical for hard-core roadies on their carbon machines, another way to look at the Clipon Bottle is it being a “double flask” that attaches to your “regular” bike. Riding to the park with pinot noir on one side of the Clipon Bottle and Macallan 15 on the other could make for a great picnic date accessory.
Though the launch is bike-centric, off the bike when there is not a cup-holder (or flat surface for that matter) this may fit the bill. Being able to attach your bottle as shown above could come in handy.
The bottle will be available in five colors and go for €19/$21 if you snag one during the early-bird special pricing.
