Nick Larsen from Charge Bikes was one of the 17 frame builders invited to build a bike for the Hack Bike Derby event held in Somerset, in the UK earlier this year. This video shows the build process for his sweet cruiser-style mountain bike and a little footage from the race. Dave Guettler head honcho of River City Bicycles in Portland, (and according to the video, one of the few fans of Shimano’s “suicide shifters”), picks another gem out of his extensive collection to show us. Soon after RockShox’s founder Paul Turner left the suspension company behind, he took his suspension expertise and started Maverick Cycles. The ML7 is an interesting beast in that the rear shock is actually a part of the frame, and unlike most suspension designs of that day, Maverick’s had an upward axle path, (rather than a forward path that shortened the wheelbase and moved the wheel “into” the object.
