2017-Fox-Transfer-dropper-seatpost-spy-shot01

What we spied earlier this year on Richie Rude’s bike may not have been an update to the D.O.S.S. after all, but rather an unmarked version of an upcoming Fox Transfer dropper seatpost. Which shouldn’t come as a surprise since they’ve dropped hint after hint.

We spotted this version behind a team truck, and other versions with a black stanchion were shown on their social media accounts over the past few months. So, our guess is it’ll come in Factory with Kashima and Performance with the recently introduced black ano coating.

We reviewed the original D.O.S.S. dropper post and liked it, citing its dependability and solid build. But, there were a few things that needed updating to keep it competitive. Stealth routing was the big one, and the Transfer appears to get that. Infinite adjust is the other, and rumor is this one does away with the three step positioning in favor of stopping anywhere within its travel. Beyond that, details are being kept behind closed doors. Our inside source tells us the Transfer’s release is coming up very soon, though. Stay tuned…

It’s about time. Fox builds excellent products and has really been improving their line lately. The DOSS was a market failure despite the lukewarm reviews. Competition is good.
I would buy this post if and when my KS Lev dies forever. Which may be a long time. Those KS Lev’s have been very durable for my stable of bikes.

I have a DOSS, like it. Dead reliable (3 years, no rebuilds, haven’t even added air)
Would like to see two options: Infinite adjust and 3 position.
I personally have no idea why anybody thinks infinite adjust is better or what advantage it provides, but that is just me. I can think of disadvantages of infinite though.

Is this based on the 9.8 technology that is currently licensed by RF and Easton? If so, I would imagine a Fox acquisition of 9.8 in the not so distant future. 9.8 needs all the help they can get with manufacturing/assembly. The Fall Line is an absolutely fantastic product (mine has been bulletproof) but poor business execution as they have been on constant backorder since release. No, that’s not a good thing especially when there are options using your technology.

Nope, this one is hydraulic, or so we’ve been told, as it hasn’t been released yet.

I would bring up that the two posts based on the Fall Line tech are already available, so if that’s all this was, it should be on the market already.

I like Giant post as it’s been very reliable and costs half or third the price of others.

This is not the same technology as the 9.8Fall Line or EASTON/RF posts. It’s a Fox design.

Perhaps this will finally be the seatpost that doesnt require body weight to drop it. Whenever I use a dropper, the times I want to drop are precisely the times I dont want to have sit down. Auto down would be a huge step for dropper functionality….

Agree with M, time for them to release an electronic dropper that works with Di2. If they do they can take my money.
