Tune has been making lightweight tubeless rim tape to seal up your mountain bike wheels for quite a while. But now they are giving roadies (and other narrow rim riders) a chance to drop a few grams going tubeless as well. At just 5-7g per wheel,Tune’s highly resistant translucent yellow tape isn’t the lowest stretch, but they say their version offers better forming to the profile of your rims while still not deforming much over your spoke holes and delivering a strong adhesion across a wide temperature range for seasons of trouble free use.
The light Rim Tape now comes in an 18mm width to fit their own Schwarzbrenner 38C, Schwarzbrenner 60C, Tune 25C & TSR Cross wheels and 20mm width to fit the Airways & TSR22, or of course any other rims with those dimensions. 18 & 20 join 22, 24, 26, 28 & 30mm widths to fit a broad range of tubeless applications. Each of the 7 widths is sold in two roll lengths – an 11m consumer roll for about five 700c/29er rims for 14€ or a 66m shop roll to set up 30 rims for 45€.
Of course you can also get light alloy Tune valves if you need those, or even Tune-branded, no-latex One Shot sealant from your local Tune dealer.
