If you like to ride in muddy conditions, carry spare tubes or tools, haul water bottles, or film your riding exploits Tacx has something for you in their new lineup of quick-release bike accessories. Building upon their already wide range of products, Tacx recently announced a new series of accessories that includes something for riders of all disciplines.
What’s really handy is that some of the new components and mounts can be used in combination with each other – the under-the-seat quick-release mounts are the same for the rear mudguard, bottle cage or rear POV camera mounts. The rear mudguards can also be used with the saddle bag or bottle cage mount in place. Take a quick click past the break for all the details…
Tacx says after thousands of miles of test riding, they’ve developed a shape for their T7300 Front Mudguard which will reliably keep dirt and water out of your face. The front mudguard measures 254mm in length and covers the top of your front wheel behind the fork.
The mudguard’s quick-release mount fits inside the fork’s steerer tube, and once installed the guard easily clicks in and out. A set of five shims are included to accommodate any internal diameter between 15-35mm. The Front Mudguard is made from shockproof polyamide and weighs 70g. It’s also designed to match the Tacx (rear) Mudguard Race if you’re looking for coverage on both ends. The Front Mudguard sells for $26 USD.
The T7000 Mudguard keeps you covered from behind, as its quick-release mount attaches to the rails on your saddle. The clamp works on 7 or 9mm rails, and the shockproof plastic fender is 1.5mm thick, 66mm wide and 250mm long. The Mudguard bears a smooth, simple design for easy cleaning.
The Mudguard’s mount can also hold Tacx’s Saddle Bag under the guard (or by itself), or host the GoPro Bike mount with the guard removed. There are two styles to choose from- The Mudguard Race weighs 70g, and the MTB model comes in at 90g. The Race model costs $23 and the MTB style goes for $26.
Tacx’s T7100 Saddle Bag is a compact, lightweight unit that offers just enough room for a tube and some small hand tools. After you’ve quick-released the bag from its mount, the zipper opens all the way around the top leaving your tools or supplies open and accessible in the deeper bottom section. Although dimensions are not given, the bag comes in Small or Medium sizes. MSRP for both is $32.
Made from polyamide with 40% carbon for reinforcement, the T7600 Cage Mount Carbon is a strong and light way to carry water behind your saddle. Tacx’s quick-release mount attaches to your seat rails, and brackets for one or two bottles are both included. Riders can adjust the angle of their bottles for easy access.
If you choose to ride with two bottles, you can add the Mudguard Race to the Cage Mount as the guard fits through the gap in between them. The mounting brackets are compatible with all standard bottle cages. The Cage Mount Carbon’s price is $29.
When it’s time to break the internet with another web edit, Tacx’s GoPro Bike mount gives you a few options for mounting your POV cam to achieve different angles.
For the classic front view, the mount can be attached to the top of any threadless headset/stem combo. The quick-release mount is affixed to the top of your steerer tube using the star-fangle nut’s bolt to secure it. If you’d like to film someone chasing you down the trail, a second clamp is included to attach the camera to your seat rails.
The GoPro Bike mount is compatible with all GoPro camera models up to the Hero 4+, or any other brands that use the same attachment system. The mount retails for $26.
