We don’t often cover team and sponsor news. But when the rider in question is a legend that had been with his previous sponsor for 17 years, we’ll make an exception. Trials mountain bike star and self proclaimed Trail Boss, Jeff Lenosky has been a part of the Giant Bicycles family for what feels like an eternity. However, Jeff announced in early December that he was bidding farewell to his sponsor of 17 years, but also had some very exciting things in the works for 2019.

Which brings us to today’s announcement – Jeff is now part of the REEB Cycles family. Which is kind of crazy when you think about it. Jeff has gone from riding for one of the biggest bike brands in the world, to one of the smallest. But the move has opened some exciting opportunities for the Trail Boss.

Not only does this offer Jeff access to custom geometry and frames to suit his needs, but the move means he can do more with the REEB Can’d Aid Foundation. Jeff has already been an ambassador for the Foundation through their Treads and Trails program for the past few years, but now that he is part of the team, the Trail Boss will be able to get even more kids on bikes. in the past five years alone, the program has donated more than 2,500 bikes to underprivileged youth.

The opportunity to dig-in & work closely with a roots mountain bike company, making handmade bikes, like REEB is super motivating. The past few years I’ve been working as an ambassador with  the Can’d Aid Foundation for their Treads and Trails Program, which has a big focus on getting low income kids on bikes and outside. REEB has always been about getting people stoked on bikes and their commitment to supporting Can’d Aid Foundation’s mission created a big picture opportunity to work with a core bike company and support a larger goal that is important to me and my career. – Jeff Lenosky.

Those bikes donated are directly related to the bikes that REEB sells as they will donate a Can’d Aid Treads & Trails bike to a worthy child. As a way of getting even more kids on bikes, REEB will be introducing a REEB Junior model this year which will be an American-assembled bike for your own kid, with the proceeds funding a Tread & Trail bike for another.

As for Jeff’s own bikes, the model above is a stock REEB Sqweeb which rolls on 29″ wheels and offers 145mm of travel. Jeff says that he’s starting with a stock frame to get a reference point, and will be helping REEB with product development in the future.

We can’t wait to see some new Trail Boss segments on the new bikes!

Frame looks like a TBG catalog frame but made in USA

I doubt it, at least for the hardtail- the chainstay length is shorter than almost any other bike I’ve seen. In any case, 1800 bucks is really a lot to ask for a steel hardtail.

Or to be more accurate it looks like other high quality made in the USA aluminum frames like Ventana or Turner (past and present because those bikes still kick ass). Props to Pro Sauce and Soul Train for their work on that bike. They are shredders on singlespeeds and much much more. Yeah boys!
