The all-new Juliana Maverick borrows all of the tech development of the updated Santa Cruz Hightower to deliver 140mm rear wheel travel, 150mm fork, and fast rolling 29er wheels. They’re offering four complete builds, along with a frameset. One key difference in the women’s lineup is that no aluminum Mavericks are available, only CC or C grade carbon frames.

The Maverick frames are identical in construction to the Hightowers, so all the tech frame details in that story apply here as well. Key highlights are the use of Santa Cruz’s more modern Lower Link suspension setup, which helps move the center of gravity lower, which uses a lighter shock tune for the Maverick. Touch points like grips and saddle are also switched for a more female-friendly fit.

Juliana Maverick geometry

Frame geometry is also the same as the Hightowers, but the Mavericks are only offered in S/M/L sizes. All of them use a flip chip in the rear to tweak the geometry should you decide to run 27.5+ wheels and tires, too.

Juliana Maverick models and pricing

The top-spec Maverick CC X01 RSV (above) is the only model equipped with Santa Cruz’s Reserve carbon wheels, a RockShox Lyric Ultimate fork and Super Deluxe Ultimate shock ($8,299). There is also a CC X01 model with an identical component spec, except for the carbon wheels ($7,099).

In C grade carbon the Maverick C S (above) features a Lyric Select+ fork and Super Deluxe Select+ shock, and a SRAM GX drivetrain ($5,199). As the entry level model, the Maverick C R steps down to a Yari RC fork and Fox Float Performance DPS rear shock, and an NX drivetrain ($4,299).

Last but not least, riders also get the option to do their own custom carbon build with the Maverick CC FS frameset ($3,299). All of the complete bikes get dropper posts and come with Maxxis DHR 29×2.4 tires mounted.
