Joining Trek’s road, enduro and trail bikes, the 2020 Trek Supercaliber XC Race machine, with its 60mm damped IsoStrut rear wheel travel and flexy seat stays, is now available for full component and paint job customization in Project One. Prior to hitting “Buy” riders can now create the perfect build and aesthetic for their new ride. The Supercaliber is available in ICON, Premium, and Signature paint schemes, with a full run of component options. We stuck the Supercaliber with SRAM XX1 Eagle drivetrain into Project One to see what we could come up with. It is a time sink, but a beautiful one at that.

Trek are one of a few bike brands that are now offering full paint job and component customisation through an online platform prior to purchase. Trek’s platform is called Project One while you’ll see Orbea offer something similar called MyO. With your Supercaliber in Project One, you can go ahead and customize pretty much everything, including the two-tone paint job, with matte or gloss finish, suspension decals, head badge color, Trek logo color, tyres, seat post, saddle, bottle cage, handlebar, grips, stem, headset, and wheelset. The Supercaliber 9.9 AXS stock build comes with a price tag of £9,200. Add £100 to that to get this level of customization in Project One.

Further paint customization options are available at the bottom of the Project One interface. The Supercaliber qualifies for Project One’s premium paint jobs, which will add a hefty £550 to your bill; the ICON range really are works of art. These paint jobs aren’t simply a two-tone merge but are completely unique designs which, with their 3D effects and sparkle shine, just scream “look at me”.

Katy Winton of the Trek Factory Racing Enduro team has customized her Trek Slash in Project One, opting for the ICON Cosmos paint scheme. In Project One, you can also personalize your frame with your name on the top tube in three different font styles so that you too can feel like a pro.
