Hope finally adds a Centerlock option to their floating road disc brake rotors, opening up more customization possibilities for modern road and gravel bikes. Hope’s two-piece floating rotors have long been popular among riders looking for improved heat management and the flash of color that their anodized alloy carrier allows, but all their rotors had remained 6-bolt only, until now…

Since Hope machines their alloy rotor carriers in house, it’s somewhat surprising that it’s taken so long for them to jump on the Centerlock train. Especially odd since their excellent RS4 road disc hubs have been offered in CL Centerlock (or as they sometimes call it centre-lock) configurations since last spring. But as many road, all-road & gravel bike wheels have adopted the Shimano Centerlock standard as the lightweight rotor interface, Hope is now on board too.

Using the same laser-cut, heat-treated round stainless steel braking surface with machined rounded edges as their Road 6-Bolt rotors, the new Road CL rotors get riveted to a CNC-machined aluminum [sic] central carrier with a Centerlock spline. The Road CL rotors are available only in 160mm diameter, with a claimed weight of 121g, six more than their 6-bolt counterpart. Road CL rotors are available now from your local bike shop for £65 / 80€ ⁄ $82.50 (US pricing w/o tax), and are available in Hope’s standard six ano colors (black, silver, red, blue, purple & orange) to match your RX4 hydraulic calipers & RS4 hubs.

I am curious to know what the rotor thickness is. In my experience rotor thickness for Hope is a little larger than some others – and indeed when I set up my RS4s with Shimano rotors I had to do a little sanding to remove rotor rub.

Hope rotors 160 or smaller are thinner than what is common. They are 1.6mm, as opposed to the more common 1.8mm. They are thicker at the rivets, however, and interfere with a lot of different calipers. Most other brands of riveted rotors are flush on the left side.

Not “really” lightweight, and only 160mm size…

im guessing they machine the carriers in-house and rivet in Taiwan rotors?

hard to beat swissstop metal though.

the rotors are made and more importantly heat treated in house. Hope rotors dont deform from heat like sram or shimano. you can cook these things rainbow and they are still true.

@pm732 – pretty certain Hope machine their own steel rotors too – also 99.99% sure that if they don’t make a part in house, then it’s sourced from a UK supplier, not Asian.

Shame about those black lockrings though.

Any chance these will work with Shimano XT brakes? I have Centerlock hubs and would love to use these rotors.
