Sierra Buttes wants “A Trail for Everyone” – The Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship has launched a short film about Connected Communities, their proposed “Lost Sierra Route” project, and the positive impact of linking 15 California mountain communities together with off-road trails.
“The Lost Sierra is a place where many come to be found. To lose themselves in the region’s beauty in order to find something special within themselves. But for those of us that call it home, a more difficult task is at hand: how to survive. We can all benefit from the beauty this region has to offer, and share it with the world in a way that is sustainable for generations.“
Sierra Buttes are thrilled to share their “A Trail For Everyone” film, shedding light on the difficult economic hardships inside the Lost Sierra and their own movement to try to support these communities. The SBTS hopes to use multi-use outdoor recreation to breathe life back into these communities in a sustainable way.
The film is a glimpse into their story of working with local small businesses, trail builders, families, and just the people of the communities, bring people together to rejuvenate their livelihoods as they work to bring the planned 300-mile multi-use Lost Sierra Route into reality. - US Lawmakers to reintroduce road user Safety & Accessibility Legislation -Senator Markey and Congressman Cohen are set to reintroduce legislation in the US Congress aiming to improve safety and accessibility for ALL users of the road. Between 2009-2018 pedestrian & bicyclist fatalities increased nearly 51%. In 2019, more than 6000 pedestrians & 800 bicyclists were killed in crashes with motor vehicles. So some of our US representatives are trying to make a difference with their reintroduction of the Complete Streets Act, legislation that would promote safer and more accessible transportation routes across the United States.
