Another full overhaul to Orbea’s enduro Rallon means a faster, shreddier (more shreddy?) mountain bike built to go faster on the toughest tracks. Just like the new 2019 link and 2022 mullet option of its previous generations over the past four years, this new Rallon again bumps up to longer travel and even slacker geometry to “Focus on Fast”.
2024 Orbea Rallon OMR Carbon enduro mountain bike
Whether you’re racing the UCI EDR enduro Word Cup or turning laps at your local bikepark, the new Orbea Rallon is up for “hitting the biggest gaps in the park, smashing berms, and scorning braking bumps. Forget limits, forget distractions, just focus on fast.“
A lot has changed. But a lot has still stayed the same.
The new Orbea Rallon looks a lot like the previous generation that first debuted a surprising 6 years ago. Sure, there was a new link that made that bike more capable in 2019. Then, another a mullet option introduced in 2022 that also brought internal frame storage and further refined linkages. But this new enduro bike will look and feel familiar to long-time Rallon fans.
So, What’s New?
But what’s really new is more travel and more capable geometry. The 2024 Orbea Rallon keeps the same 170mm fork travel up front. But now it gets an upgrade to 167mm in the rear to soak up bigger hits.
The new Rallon also slackens it’s headtube just 1/2° from last year, a subtle refinement they realized mid race season. With the adjustable geometry, that means you can now pick from a 63.5°/64° angle up front.
Other than head angle, frame geometry is unchanged. The new bike keeps the same Stack, Reach, chainstay length, BB height & standover as in last year’s update. Pick from Low or Lower with the carry-over flip-chip at the lower shock mount.
What else stays the same?
The new asymmetric Rallon is still built from Orbea’s next-to-top-tier OMR carbon for a mix of lightweight, stiffness, and durability. And the bike can still be built up with either 29″ wheels front & rear. Or build a mullet with a 27.5″ rear wheel and the included shock extender. You also still get the Lockr internal frame storage inside the downtube, under the water bottle mount.
Orbea calls the 4 sizes with lots of standover clearance “Steep & Deep” so riders can often fit on more than one size. Then, pick your preferred bike based on your riding style, and Reach & wheelbase preference.
