Look, the 130mm carbon YT Izzo Core trail bike has been around virtually unchanged since 2020.

But we loved it then. And maybe we’ll love it even more, now that it gets more burly builds with more fork travel & slacker geo, inspired by the latest Uncaged version.

Oh, and did I mention that it’s more affordable than ever!

Updated YT Izzo Core trail bike builds go longer, more affordable!

A couple summers back, YT added an Uncaged 11 build to their original shorter-travel Izzo trail bike, giving it some top-shelf Öhlins suspension and a boost to 140mm of fork travel paired to the frame’s 130mm rear wheel travel. That slightly slacker, slightly more burly setup was apparently so popular, that YT decided to shake up the entire trail bike line-up for this next riding season.

What’s new?

All three new Core builds get the longer travel 130/140mm suspension setup combo. That slackens the head angle out to 65.7° in the bike’s lower flip-chip position to tackle every steeper and rougher trails, while still maintaining a steep 76.4° seat angle for efficient climbing.

There’s also another key tech update that snuck in over the last year or two, the 2 more recent rear triangles make these latest YT Izzos transmission-friendly thanks to their UDH mount.

Those two rear triangle options also help bring pricing down. The top-tier model still gets YT’s signature ultra hi-mod carbon front & rear triangle – but with an Öhlins build still 13% cheaper than the Uncaged 11. Then, the two more affordable builds pair a hi-mod carbon front triangle layup to an aluminum rear triangle. It’s a bit heavier than the original all-carbon frames, but offers solid strength, durability & performance at a lower price.
