Apidura has announced a comprehensive overhaul of its Expedition Series bikepacking bags, marking the first major design revision since the company introduced welded waterproof construction to the bikepacking market in 2016.

The redesign focused on three key features, listed here with highlights as to how they accomplished them:
- Stability
- Integrated attachment systems w/ no unnecessary hardware
- Packs are shaped and sized to fit more bike sizes & modern geometries
- Waterproofness
- Full seam-welded construction
- Three-layer fabric
- Roll-top closures (where appropriate)
- Durability
- Reinforcements in high-wear areas
- Internal structures to reduce flex & stress
- Durable materials are designed to be repaired
They did all of that while maintaining an additional focus on simplicity and light weight, making them enjoyable to use. And they look good, too.

The centerpiece of the redesign is the Expedition Handlebar System, which eliminates traditional clamps in favor of BarSpace Modules that position the pack away from the handlebars while maintaining structural integrity through stability cords and tension straps. You can add separate (optional) mesh or roll-top packs to the front of it for more storage, both of which quickly detach and can be worn via shoulder straps.

The system weighs 436-448g depending on capacity (9L or 14L) and includes dedicated GPS cycling computer (Garmin & Wahoo) and accessory (lights, action cams, etc.) mounts. These two (optional) three-prong mounts (think GoPro feet) make it easy to use an entire universe of 3rd party mounts using that system, and they’re actually built into the bag, so you don’t need to worry about finding room on your bars for them.
Pricing starts at $228 for the 9L variant, positioning it competitively against similar systems from Miss Grape and Tailfin that range from $218-345.

The collection also has redesigned frame and saddle packs with enhanced stability features.
Saddle packs now have a stability channel system with silicone grip strips and a Hypalon cradle that compresses contents toward the pack’s base.

Frame packs incorporate zipper control rails to prevent bulging under load and reduce stress on closure systems. They come in half and full sizes, the latter filling your entire front triangle. Both are available in four sizes each, ranging from 2.8L to 5.7L and 4.6L to 10L, respectively.
Construction maintains the fully seam-welded waterproof design using updated three-layer Expedition-grade fabric, with reinforcements in high-wear areas and SoftVent air valves for compression without additional hardware.

The complete range spans 20 products with pricing from $25 for extension arms to $261 for the largest full-frame pack. Pre-orders began March 20, 2026, with deliveries scheduled for mid-April.
