It’s hard to believe that Tom Ritchey has been welding bicycle frames for five decades, but this 50th Anniversary Road Logic frameset celebrates the milestone in style.

With a classic rim brake design on a Chromoly steel frame, and an understated Pacific Azul color, it’s a modern nod to his heritage. With only 150 frames to be made, it’s sure to sell out fast, too. Here’s the details…

50th anniversary Ritchey Road Logic road bike frameset details

The Road Logic originally debuted 30 years ago, and they’ve offered it ever since. The latest frame is TIG welded, heat-treated, triple-butted Ritchey Logic steel tubing. They say the tubes use “aggressively short” butted sections to save weight and contribute a more lively ride feel. Claimed frame weight is 1,750g for size 55.

Up front is a 350g (uncut) Ritchey WCS carbon fork with straight 1-1/8″ steerer sitting inside a forged and machined ultralight headtube. A WCS headset is included.

Cable routing is external, naturally, and it’s fitted with a 68mm threaded bottom bracket shell. Compatible chainring sizes range from 46/30 up to 53/39.

Standard quick-release dropouts hold the wheels front and rear, and fortunately Ritchey’s still offering high end rim brake wheels to fit them. The frame will clear up to 700x30mm tires.

Comforting to see that Tom still makes/oversees steel frame set construction. His work has always been a class act.

I bet this is a wonderful frame to click off the miles on. Put the best wheels and tires you can afford on it. Make it sing.

The color is great – the greyish tones on the normal frames are quite hideous.

“It’s hard to believe that Tom Ritchey has been welding bicycle frames for five decades”

It is hard to believe, impossible actually, because Tom doesn’t weld. He’s a fillet brazer, and a damn good one, but not a welder.

Let me doubt the 1750gr of that frame… I’m afraid that frameset in size55 hardly weighs less than 1900gr

I had a similar dimensioned frame to the 55cm listed in Reynolds 853 that weighed 1600gm so it does sound plausible.
