7mesh hits the trails with new & updated Spring 2022 MTB clothing

Having reviewed their jerseys, shorts and chamois in the past, I can attest that Squamish, B.C.’s 7mesh is a company that prioritizes high-quality design and construction. For Spring 2022 they’ve released a few new pieces for men and women, and updated some of their classic jerseys and shorts. This article covers a selection of their latest pieces including all-new cargo tights for men and women, a new women’s hoody and a windshell that straps itself to your frame.

7mesh Men’s and Women’s Shorts:

The Glidepath short has been in 7mesh’s lineup since the brand’s beginnings, and for 2022 it’s seen a few updates. This short has always offered a relaxed fit, but it’s now constructed from four-way stretch fabric to ensure complete mobility. 7mesh has also added a new ultra-suede hook and ladder waist adjuster, a re-shaped gusset and tapered leg openings to fit nicely over knee pads. Storage has been revised, with hand pockets and zippered side pockets on each leg.

Men’s color options are Black, Thyme or Loam, while women’s colors for 2022 are Black or Port. MSRP is $150.

The Slab short has been fully updated with a new seamless gusset (which ensures full mobility and won’t snag on your saddle), plus a new hook and ladder waist fastener, and a fly closure. These shorts offer a trim fit, but use four-way stretch fabric held together by ultrasonic taped seams. Storage is kept minimal with one zippered pocket on the right hip.

Men’s colors are Black or Thyme, and women’s models come in Black or Port. The Slab short retails for $140.

Men’s short sizes XS-XXL are available, while women’s shorts range from XS-XL.

Men’s and Women’s Chamois:

The new MK3 and WK3 Cargo Bib Tights offer a full coverage option for cooler weather rides. These tights offer plenty of storage on the thighs and back for phones, small tools and snacks. An Elastic Interface Performance Space chamois ensures in-the-saddle comfort, and trimmable hems allow you to customize the leg length for a perfect fit.

On the men’s model, 7mesh’s unique 45mm elastic bib straps replace typical paneled bib uppers for minimal torso coverage. The women’s style (pictured above) features 7mesh’s Pull2P straps, so when nature calls you can drop your pants without taking off your top on the trailside.

The MK3 or WK3 Cargo Bib Tights come in Black only. Men’s models sell for $250, but the women’s models are a bit cheaper at $230.

7mesh is also offering new colors for the MK3 and WK3 Bibs and Cargo Bibs: Men now get a new Thyme color (above), while women get a Port option for 2022.

Men’s chamois sizes go from XS-XXL, and women’s sizes XS-XL are available.

Jerseys/Hoodies:

7mesh has updated their merino wool Desperado line with two new styles for men and two new options for the ladies. The all new Women’s Desperado Merino Hoody is a year-round essential for cooler weather. Its blend of poly/merino ensures warmth, durability, and a dry feel. This hoody offers an articulated fit and a low-profile hood with no dangling drawstrings. The women’s Desperado Hoody sells for $90, and comes in Black or Raspberry colors.

The Women’s Desperado Merino Shirt ¾ offers a little extra arm coverage, and features 7mesh’s versatile poly/wool blend. Its articulated body cut provides mobility but won’t get baggy when you’re in riding position. Three colors are available; Black, Shark or Raspberry. MSRP is $70.

Women’s shirts are available in sizes XS-XL.

For Men, the original Desperado Henley jersey has been joined by two new models; the Desperado Merino Henley Long Sleeve and the Desperado Merino Shirt. Offering a relaxed fit, the Henley Long Sleeve features a round crew neck with four buttons to aid ventilation. The Henley Long Sleeve jersey is available in Black or Port colors, and sells for $90.

The Desperado Merino Shirt is a simplified version of the original Henley style, with shorter sleeves and no buttons at the neck. It’s body has an articulated cut yet offers a relaxed overall fit. The shirt is available in Black, Cadet Blue, Port or Clay colors, and retails for $70.

Men’s shirt sizes range from XS-XXL.

Northwoods Windshell:

Last but not least, 7mesh’s Northwoods Windshell offers a unique feature that makes it easy to bring along for a ride that starts cool and ends up warm; There are frame attachment straps built into the shell so you can shed it and pack it without carrying a backpack or a frame/seat bag. This windshell is available in men’s and women’s models.

The Northwoods Windshell sells for $175. Men’s color options are Cadet Blue, Port or Shadow, with sizes from XS-XXL. Women’s color choices are Port or Yucca, and sizes range from XS-XL.
