Flint, Michigan’s own Article One, an independent eyewear company, has just launched its second collaboration with San Fransico’s Mission Workshop to create the Article One X Mission Workshop. This new activewear has a frame that’s inspired by the classic aviator shape and is part of Article One’s ACTIVE Collection.
“Designing eyewear for bicycling enthusiasts is made much easier by working with the team at Mission Workshop because of their expertise in durable, high-quality gear for urban cyclists,” said Article One Founder Wes Stoody. “Together we handpicked new frame and lens combinations that would create an elevated, bespoke style – a nod to Article One’s principle to challenge the industry standard of technical eyewear aesthetics.”
The Article One x Mission Workshop frame is handcrafted in Italy. The specific design was created to help make it seamlessly transition from everyday activities to intense workouts without changing eyewear. Article One says the eyewear has some performance-driven elements that are highlighted by the TR-90 polymer construction. They say that TR-90 is incredibly durable, lightweight, and hypoallergenic.
The Article One X Mission Workshop also includes technical features like Italian Divel lenses with CR-39 Polarization that are said to block 100% of both UVA/UVB rays and will also prevent road glare. They have an adjustable silicone nose piece, rubber temple tips, backside anti-reflective lens coating, and spring hinges.
The 6 New Colors
The six new styles are part of the Article One ACTIVE Collection. The colors and patterns range from a vibrant red hue to a popping blue lens color. Frame choices are available in tortoise prints that are in yellows and greens.
It should be noted that the blue, amber, and yellow lenses are not polarized.
The Article One x Mission Workshop frame retails for $255 and is available now online.
