When I got to the question insisting on knowing your income, I canceled my entry. I understand why their advertisers want to know but I’m not willing to share that info and there should be a “Prefer not to answer” option.

I forgot to mention, got to work on your AddSense or whatever your using. The top of my page and biggest adds are all for non-cycling related stuff. My eyes literally don’t see it anymore.

Next time around they might want to add a “Casual/Recreational Rider” category to their rider choices.

I have to agree with Ripnshread. I looked at some headphones on John Lewis earlier today. I turned off AdBlock after doing the survey and reading the comments here, just to see what would come up, as i was aware that i don’t remember any ads.

Turns out there are none as I run adblock but forget its there. When I refreshed with AdBlock off, every single ad space bar one, was a John Lewis advert showing me the headphones (Flashing!!) I looked at earlier. Jeez. People still have a LONG way to go to understand what online advertising. This is most likely totally out of control of BR but it made me remember why I got AdBlock in the first place.

With it on, I get to see only the content I care about, and not dozens of pictures of the same thing, something I have already researched and browsed, flashing at me! Sorry BR, love you, but the advertising sucks. I’d honestly rather pay a few £ a year for the use of your site. I’m not dead set against sponsored content, but if you use it, it has to MASSIVELY OBVIOUS its sponsored content.

Oh my! Rant over.
