Colnago has carved out a reputation as a brand that carries the top racers in the world to victory.

If that wasn’t evident before Tadej Pogacar began stacking up Grand Tour victories on Colnago bikes in 2020, it certainly is now.

The latest run of stellar results from Pogacar and his fellow riders at UAE Team Emirates have added to a long pedigree of top-performing bikes stretching back 70 years.

BikeTiresDirect is now an official dealer of Colnago bikes, making popular framesets and complete builds including the C68, V4Rs, and V3 road bikes, along with the G4-X and G-3X gravel bikes easier to land than ever.

BikeTiresDirect’s inventory of bikes often offers considerable savings on some of the most coveted models on the market. Here are a few of the hottest Colnago framesets and complete builds currently available:

Colnago C68

The Colnago C68 is a top-tier race bike that celebrates the classic style and comfort of Colnago. Hand-made in Italy, the C68 brings an aggressive racing geometry with the latest tech to meet the needs of modern riders.

The C68 features clearance for tires up to 32mm, a T47 bottom bracket with increased diameter bearings, and an integrated multitool embedded in the headset.

The bike also features a new steerer tube with a larger diameter than the C64 model, providing a more safe and rigid feel on more technical terrain. It also includes a new fork that has been lightened and optimized to provide the same level of rigidity and precision without any extra weight.

BikeTiresDirect currently has top-spec C68 Dura Ace Di2 builds for $15,000, along with framesets in multiple colors and sizes for $6,750.

Colnago V4Rs

Colnago’s V4Rs is a thoroughbred race machine designed to sit at the top of the podium. Take it from Tadej Pogacar, who just this year won the two Grand Tours using the V4Rs as his primary ride. The bike features improved stiffness, aerodynamics, and weight savings that have been refined through years of research, testing, and real-world racing.

The design of the V4Rs screams speed and efficiency. The front section of the bike includes a narrower surface area to maximize airflow and reduce drag. The V4Rs also comes with clearance for tires up to 32mm, making it capable across variable conditions and compatible with more tires.

BikeTiresDirect currently has multiple sizes and colors of the V4Rs with the Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset for $9,750.

Colnago V3

The Colnago V3 road bike is light and responsive and features the signature Colnago style found in the V4Rs and C68, but at a much more approachable price point.

The V3 starts at an MSRP of just more than $5,000, and features a monocoque carbon frame highlighted with details that make the bike light and aerodynamic.

The V3 features integrated cables that run through the bike’s TFS integrated fork system, and the bike’s design features clearance for tires up to 28mm.

The Colnago V3 comes in three colors, including Matte Black and Red, Gloss White and Black, or Matte Blue and Yellow.

Through BikeTiresDirect, riders can get their hands on a V3 with the Shimano 105 groupset for $3,000, or a V3 Disc with the Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset for $4,600.

Colnago G4-X

Colnago says its G4-X gravel bike brings the qualities of lightness, handling, downhill reliability, stability, and frame responsiveness that are critical to pushing the limits of dirt roads.

The frame features tire clearance for up to 45mm tires to smooth out chattery sectors and provide confidence and stability in loose terrain. The G4-X includes four separate mounting points for bottle cages or other gear needed for longer hauls, along with a new seat post lock that can take more torque and ensure the saddle stays put in punishing conditions.

The G4-X comes in Ice Blue, Forest Green, or Yellow for a starting MSRP of about $4,500.

Colnago G3-X

Colnago’s G3-X includes enough versatility to tackle gravel or cyclocross courses on a bike with a true racing soul. Colnago designed the G3-X to include disc brakes and made enough room for tires of up to 42mm in width.

The bike includes two mud guards under the bottom bracket and above the right chain stay to protect the frame from big hits. In addition to bottle cage mounts in the triangle, the G3-X includes additional bosses on the underside of the downtube and the top tube to haul more equipment on longer rides.

The G3-X comes in Matte Black, Metallic Green/Light Blue, or Sand/Maroon.

BikeTiresDirect currently offers the G3-X with either a 1x or 2x Shimano GRX Groupset starting at $3,599.

About Colnago

Ernesto Colnago founded Colnago Bicycles in 1954 with a mission to bring storied artisan Italian craftsmanship together with all of the latest bells and whistles in performance technology.

While the company began small, Colnago rapidly built a reputation for producing bicycles that were fast, highly efficient, and innovative.

That spirit of innovation has traveled with the brand across 70 years, earning the trust of riders ranging from everyday enthusiasts to the best cyclists in the world.

Cover the logos and tell if you can spot anything Colnago related. I can’t.

Been the case for last decade for carbon bikes made in China or Taiwan. They are basically all the catalog frames at this point save whatever gimmicky crap they throw on for “compliance.”

That’s becoming more or less true of most premium carbon bike products. It comes down to who you believe has engineered the particular traits into their bikes that appeal to you. In that regard, there are still lots of choices. As an American with all those choices before me, the Colnago I’d love to have in my quiver is something like a Master. Those are still special, and becoming more so as artisan steel bikes become more of a rare thing.
