Cannondale was a pioneer of the true BB30 system, where bearings were pressed directly into the frame. And C-Bear has had a solution for that for a little while (as has BBinfinite). Now, C-Bear joins other brands in offering the BB30A, or asymmetric, bottom bracket solution for more modern Cannondale road bikes.
The BB30A design relies on an offset bottom bracket position to improve stiffness where needed, and tire and chainring clearance elsewhere, but ends up requiring either a Cannondale BB, or a bunch of spacers, or one of these solutions. C-Bear’s system uses cups that build in the correct space for left and right sides, eliminating spacers and maximizing bearing width. They have options for Shimano (24mm spindles), SRAM GXP (24-22mm), BB30 and Cannondale’s SpiderRing cranksets. From €109.
Got a De Rosa, Pinarello or something else with Italian thread bottom brackets paired with the wider BB386evo cranks? Now you have a ceramic bearing upgrade option for that, too. The C-Bear ITA EVO 386 bottom brackets are designed for frames using that wider spindle standard, but they also make Italian threaded ceramic BB’s for standard 30mm spindles, too. From €139.
