If the latest PR teaser from Italy is true, Campagnolo might be starting a Movement. Or, rather, a timepiece called Movement. Or something else entirely? The vague message reads as follows:
While the frame is important and certainly the most visible portion of the bicycle it must only maintain its form and is incapable of movement, much like the body of a sports car. A frame can be more or less rigid, more or less reactive, more or less aerodynamic but without transmission and wheels, it is little more than a beautiful yet immobile ensemble of tubes. A car with no motor, a watch with no gears a boat with no oars the unbuilt frame is a photograph that Campagnolo turns to video. The obsession with movement has led the Campagnolo company, over its 80+ years of history, to become experts of the subject. Stay tuned for big news, on the way shortly, by signing up to the newsletter on the Campagnolo website and be among the first of #thoseintheknow
We read this not necessarily that they’re starting a watch division, though they might, but more as they’ve got something new coming. And, honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised if they were the second major classic Italian brand to develop an e-bike system…
Hopefully not e-bike but wireless electronic…….not holding my breath though

It’s an ebike….
wonder what special tools will be required to install it on your wrist
Allen or Torx. Campy is using (and defining) industri standards and always has…. Cant say that for ShimaNO or SRAM.
..but your dealer will probebly lie about that when he recomends Shimano or sram because his profit margin is higher on Shimano or SRAM products,
I guarantee you his Shimano margins are worse.
I really hope it is a new drivetrain (non-assisted!). Maybe an “adventure bike” drive train? I’d love to get a 46/30 crankset from campy. Movement sounds like some sort of e-bike thing though.
Just give me a tight and wide 11-speed cassette staring with 13t or 14t cogs. 50/13t is plenty for anyone not racing, 50/14 si perfect topgear for gravel/adventure riding for everyone riding 700c +40mm.
I wonder if they’re finally bringing back an MTB line after 40 years…
maybe the wifi drivetrain rumored year ago…
Campy 12 Speed!
This could be that they are manufacturing a new mechanical watch movement. That could be huge new for the mechanical watch world.
There are just a few big players in that produce movements for wholesale. Those companies being Miyota, Seiko and ETA. Swatch owns ETA, one of the largest manufacturer of movements and is artificially limiting supply of watch movements and will ultimately cease wholesale supply. This is strategy is leaving a void and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Campagnolo watch movements paired with some fine Italian brands.
Excellent observation I love both campy and automatic watches
Maybe they are going to put a price protection on the brand. So the price is the same worldwide and CBC does not sale the product at dealer cost. A strong MAP program would be great. Then local dealers may carry Campy again. That could start a movement. 🙂
Map is illegal in Europe.
Probably a new corkscrew…
Tullio has been at the prunes.
Maybe it’s a new wireless electronic group that pairs to an optional wireless assist motor and syncs with their new kinetically charged smart watch. Think Inspector Gadget… 😀
Probably a new wireless group.
Why is there a picture of a watch movement? The Movement page on Campy’s website doesn’t include that image.
It’s a new bike nutrition product: an energy bar packed with fiber and proprietary laxative that maximizes “movement”.
seatpost. definitely a seatpost.
hopefully its a “movement” to outlaw and eradicate the use of the words campy campa campag … you get the drift? once you learn how to pronounce you’ll never go back!
Crampandgoslow
I guess if Campy does it, it’s ok.

Please, please please no e-bike crap Campagnolo, show us you are better than that…
campy clock headset cover? lol
1x setup? Finally!
1x WHY ?
You really enjoy a 20% difference between shifts? 1x is an inferior design for any dropbar bike.
2×11 with a clutched rear deraillure is perfect for even the roughest terrain.
1×11 is a design compromise for engeneers that areunable to design a decent front shifting mechanisem… Campagnolo came up with the perfect design 20 years ago with trim instead of absolute index on the front shifting mechanism.
A 10-speed +Chorus Ergo combined with a 2015 campagnolo S2 front-derailure is all you will ever dream about in terms of accurate front shifting that will never miss a shift or drop a chain – even on trails. (outperforms DI1 front shifting).
No, Morten, 1x is better. Way better. Tighter ratios. Wider range. Perfect for cyclotourists, Enduro, and World tour beef eaters. No downsides. Straighter chain angles. Higher highs. Lower lows.
it’s a unicycle folks
Nobody yet commented that they have come up with a gearbox? Pinkbike would go bananas!
Dropper seat post?
Vintage throwback groupset?
