Canyon’s all-day Endurace endurance road bike family gets two new, more affordable framesets, adding an all-new entry-level CF carbon layup and a completely revamped AL aluminum model. The Endurace has long been popular for its balance of high-performance handling, large tire clearance, and exceptional rider comfort. But now there are many more affordable options, plus even bigger tire clearances that push the all0-road bike to the edge of fast gravel capability.
Canyon Endurace CF & AL affordable all-road bikes
Up until now the entry carbon spec Canyon Endurace CF had only been available with rim brakes, since its introduction all the way back in 2014. So an all-new CF Disc layup helps get the complete bike under the two thousand euro threshold.
On top of that, an updated aluminum Endurace AL is completely revamped with smoother welds that are now almost indistinguishable from the carbon bikes, and bigger tire clearance.
Why do you want an endurance race Endurace road bike?
We last reviewed the carbon Endurace CF SL back in 2020, but it’s been a go-to mile & kilometer crusher off & on for several of us Bikerumorers since the CF SLX Disc’s debut back in 2016. Our smaller riders especially have appreciated the almost unmatched handling of the smallest sizes with 650b wheels vs. most other scaled-down 700c road bikes. But it all comes back to race bike performance, combined with endurance bike comfort.
Updated carbon and aluminum bikes, bigger tires, lower prices. What’s not to love?
All-day, all-road geometry
Both new Endurace CF & AL still get the same Sport Geometry as the premium Endurace CF SLX, characterized by a more relaxed upright rider position, longer overall wheelbase for all-day all-road stability over any road surface, but still traditional road-steep angles for quick handling.
The bikes come in an ultra-wide eight size range (XXXS-XXL), adding one smaller size than the previous carbon or alloy models, which had previously only been offered in WMN women-specific builds. With geometry & small fit across all models, Canyon says there’s no more need for WMN models, instead moving to more universal fits that still get components scaled specifically to frame size.
What’s new?
One tiny but important upgrade is 35mm all-road tire clearance. It might only be up two millimeters from the previous models (and now more than the CF SLX!) but that little jump moves you from maxing out with a file-tread cyclocross tire up to a fast gravel tire. While there is room for big tires, Canyon specs almost all the new affordable Endurace bikes with road slicks, pairing Schwalbe One 30mm front tires to 32mm rear tires for balanced comfort, grip & low rolling resistance.
These new models also all add toptube bosses so you can securely mount a toptube bag for easy access to snacks & anything else you want close at hand. See how all-road is blurring towards fast gravel?

All of the new bikes are available to order in globally starting today. But, they will not make their way into the USA market until the middle of summer 2022 (only the 6, CF7 & CF8 are sure to make it stateside, likely with a few minor spec tweaks, like wheels or tires).
