Whether you’re a triathlete, endurance road cyclist, or ITU specialist, clip on aerobars can be the perfect set up when you’re looking for an aero position on a standard road bike. Clip-ons attach to standard road handle bars to allow for the use of drop bar shifters while still offering a more aerodynamic riding position. The latest option for fans of the clip-on comes as ENVE expands their SES (Smart Enve System) aero line with their new Aero Clip-On Extensions.
ENVE’s SES Aero Clip-On extensions will be offered in two different base models with one offering a standard 31.8mm handlebar clamp that will fit any standard road bar, and the ENVE SES aerobar specific model. The latter will only work with the ENVE SES Aero road bar creating a seamless aero set up that is still drop bar shifter compatible. Both Clip-On sets will be sold with S-Bend or J-Bend extensions, while the SES model will also be compatible with straight extensions.
Just so you have enough carbon fiber on your ride, almost the entire structure is crafted from carbon including the pad carrier which has 10 degrees of rotation and eight hole positions for plenty of adjustability. The extensions themselves are designed to be run with or without bar end shifters and include a plug for non shifter use.
Both versions of the SES Aero Clip-Ons will retail for $350.
