I snapped the photo of this custom-painted Cannondale at Sea Otter with no particular intent to use, just thought it looked cool and no harm in using up a few extra megs on an 8GB SD card. The OUCH/Bahati team just sent out this press release with their lineup for the upcoming SRAM Tour of the Gila race, and it turned out to be relevant enough to share. Cool paint job. Oh, and my five-year-old son just did a school project on Rahsaan Bahati, take a peek at his picture for that after the break.
PRESS RELEASE: The newly named OUCH-Bahati Foundation Pro Cycling Team announced its lineup today for the 24th annual edition of the SRAM Tour of the Gila. New Mexico’s premier 5-day stage race will take place throughout the mountains of Silver City, NM April 28 to May 2nd with a confirmed star-studded field. The OUCH-Bahati Foundation Pro Cycling Team is set to compete strongly against the best in the world, led by 2006 Tour of California winner, Floyd Landis.
The full team roster includes Floyd Landis (USA), Cesar Grajales (COL), Jason Donald (USA), Alex Hagman (USA), Corey Collier (USA), Neil Coleman (GBR), Evan Hyde (USA), and Matty Rice (AUS).
“This Tour of the Gila is going to be spectacular! I’m excited to see our team line up against the likes of Levi (Leipheimer), Lance (Armstrong) and Tom (Danielson)â€. said Steve Owens, Manager and Technical Director for the team. “I know we’ll be very competitive.â€

It’s just too bad I had to subject his impressionable young mind to gansta rap while we watched Bahati’s videos on YouTube. Seriously, change the music. Before you say it, Marshal “Major” Taylor was a contender for the subject matter, but I thought it might be nice for his classmates to learn about a contemporary that was makin’ it happen.
