DMR’s all-new V11 flat pedals are an interesting mix of the same tunable grip and high-quality internals as their top CNC’d Vault pedals, but at half the price thanks to their reinforced nylon composite body construction. It’s not often that you talk about a plastic/nylon pedal matching premium alloy on performance, but that looks to be exactly what DMR did here with their latest all-mountain to gravity V11 flats…

DMR says many of their riders prefer the more complaint feel & durability of composite pedals, not to mention the fact that they are usually much more affordable. Developed to glance of rocks rather than bend, to offer unparalleled grip in all conditions, and deliver unbeatable value.

So DMR set out to recreate the same quality & performance of their top-spec Vault alloy pedals in reinforced nylon composite… as they celebrate 25 years of creating quality bikes & components.

Tech Details – Nylon composite meets premium performance

To do that, the new V11 shares that same proven and popular shape as the Vault – a large 105x105mm platform and DMR’s signature concave shape. To get the same strength in glass fiber reinforced nylon, the V11 is just two millimeters thicker than the alloy pedal, coming in with a low profile of just 19mm at the outside and 16mm in the middle of the concave foot bed.

The V11s also get the same tunable grip, with 11 adjustable and replaceable pin on each side, 7 of which are sharply edged Moto Pins for mega grip on the leading & trailing edges. The V11 uses special pins with a flanged base to offer plenty of support in the nylon body, secured in place with captive locknuts.

The composite body pedals sit on the same super tough forged 4140 chromoly steel 9/16″ axles as the Vaults, with a Brendog-signature hardened black surface treatment (6mm hex bolt, no wrench flats). And they spin on the same combination of an outboard high-strength sealed cartridge bearing and inboard hard-wearing, low-friction DU bushing. Custom rubber seals & alloy end caps keep everything protected inside, and the pedals are fully serviceable, with spares available from DMR.

The end result, the nylon composite V11 pedals claim a weight of 450g per pair (just 20g more than top-spec Vaults) and have no rider weight limit, for any type or mountain bike or eMTB riding.

Blending the affordability of entry-level nylon £18 V6 platforms with the performance of their top-tier £100 Vault pedals, DMR says the goal with the V11 was to make no holds barred grip & durability accessible to a much wider audience of mountain bikers.

The precision molded, reinforced composite V11 pedals sell for £50 / $60 / 50€ and are available in eight different colors to match your bike, or stick with classic black. Get them now in local bike shops and online retailers, or straight from DMR.
