It’s taken awhile, but it seems like 35mm handlebars are becoming the MTB standard for aggressive riding. The bars and stems are showing up on more complete bikes as stock equipment, and more brands than ever are adding their own aftermarket products to the mix. Today, e*thirteen added their new cockpit options with multiple bars and stems to help you go big.
For the handlebars, the options are split into three versions – the Base, Plus, and Race. Both the Base and Plus are made from aluminum while the top end race opts for a full carbon construction. All three models have been optimized for comfort through either specific butting and bend profiles or through carbon layup.
Each also features a 9° backsweep and 5° upsweep and 800mm width with 20 or 35mm rise options.
Naturally, there is a corresponding stem with a 35mm clamp.
Sold in two models, the Plus sees more material removed than the Base model resulting in a 145g stem vs. a 155g stem. Otherwise, both are the same with 0° rise, and 40 or 50mm lengths. Designed with a zero gap upper clamp, the stem uses T25 Torx hardware with angled steerer bolts for a slim profile.
Available now, prices range from $34.95 – $139.95 for the bars and $49.95 – $95.95 for the stems.
