Based on the 14L version for city commuting, the new North St. Adventure Micro Pannier bag gets a little more flexible for off-road adventures on gravel and trail.
Switching from the standard mechanical hooks used on most urban-focused pannier bags, the Adventure models get wide Velcro straps to fit more types of racks, wrapping around rails and tubes up to 1.25 inches in diameter. The soft mounting surface also prevents any rattle as you take to the backroads, and an included Nano Voile Strap secures it to the bottom of the rack or seatstay to prevent it from bouncing about.
The recycled sailcloth material is waterproof, but the zippers and seams aren’t, so consider it highly water resistant. The roll-top closure should at least keep rain out if you’re caught in a quick afternoon thunderstorm.
A front zipper pocket keeps small stuff in easy reach. It’s available in five colors (Black, Rust, Coyote, Kelp, and Blue), it weighs just 13.5 ounces, and it measures 18 inches tall x 9 inches wide x 5 inches deep.
It holds up to 14 L with the top open, or 10 L if you roll it all the way down. Handmade in Portland, Oregon, it’s priced at $105 each.
