Gobik has just launched a jacket to combat the cold. And the wet. And the wind. The Spanish apparel brand, known for partnering with major fabric technology manufacturers, boasts a jacket that will keep you warm in -8°C temps.

If you hit the road on cold mornings, braving rain or sleet, hell, maybe even a little snow, you may want to give this a look.

Partnering Technologies

For the Superarmour jacket, Gobik partnered with a couple of brand technologies. First, let’s talk about the waterproof-ness on the outside.

eVent Fabrics provides the Superarmour with a waterproof rating of 10,000mm. Using an eVent DVstorm membrane, the jacket is fully seam-sealed, keeping rain and wind at bay. Yet Gobik claims the Superarmour jacket also maintains high breathability. Sweat and moisture within are allowed to escape freely, helping regulate body temperature.

Secondly, Gobik partners with Polartec to keep the inside nice and toasty. They used Polartec’s Alpha insulation, which keeps the rider warm while still allowing airflow. Initially developed for Special Forces, the open-fiber construction allows continuous air exchange. This maintains steady warmth while rapidly dispersing sweat.

Lastly, Gobik chose a YKK Vision AquaGuard zipper for the Superarmour. This ensures full protection against any water slipping through the closure. It also has a magnetic storm flap at the collar, preventing any irritation from the zipper.

Gobik Superarmour Details

While not hooded, the double-layer high collar keeps the neck warm and blocks unwanted breezes. Zippered cuffs keep the Gobik Superarmour jacket secure while also creating an adaptable fit.

There are two rear-access zippers on either side of the rear pocket. The pocket is mesh-lined and easy to open and close, even when wearing gloves. Gobik also considered low-light issues, strategically positioning reflective accents on the Superarmour.
