You’ve heard rumors here and here, and now it’s official: Blue Ridge Adventures will be hosting the Pisgah Mountain Bike Stage Race in the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina.  Here’s the deets:
- 4 days 145 Miles 38,000 feet of elevation gain
- October 15th-18th, 2009
- Over half of the miles are Single Track!
- A six mile time trial followed by three Big Days in Pisgah National Forest.
- 3 Rest Stops per day, also includes first aid, mechanic, radio connected to start/finish for emergencies
- It all takes place between 2000’ and 5000’ on some of the most talked about trails on the east coast
- Every rider gets a custom jersey from event
- Over $15,000 in cash…no telling how many prizes we will come up with…still working that part out!
- Cash to top 5 in every category with podium finish (also 6-10th for all categories except Pro/Elite fields)
- Limited to 150 riders.
- Registration will open May 1, 2009 on Active.com.
All stages, including the opening time trial, count toward the overall time champion.  Per our previous post, this event is not intended for the weekend warrior, however it will be loaded with fully stocked rest stops with medical and mechanical support on hand.  Get more info on their website.
