Limited Edition Mavic Cosmic Pro road cycling shoe with Belgian Lion print for spring classics races

While not as flashy as their thousand dollar show stoppers introduced last week, the limited edition Mavic Cosmic Pro road shoes are arguably just as good looking. And far more affordable. Designed with the Leo Belgicus motif to celebrate the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix classics. Quantities are limited, price is $319.99, and weight is claimed at 480g for the pair. Step on down for more pics and details…

From Mavic: “Like the other Cosmic Pro Limited Edition shoes, the Classics version features an Endofit Tongue and Dual Ergo Dial QR system that allows adjustment in 1mm increments so you can find the perfect fit. An ultra-stiff Energy Carbon Outsole and Energy Frame combine to provide the pedaling efficiency necessary for such a high-performance shoe.”

Nice shoes…for narrow feet only.

I like the look of these and I love cable laces. However I’m bummed that more and more companies are coming up with their own Boa clones. Boa’s hassle-free no cost part replacement is awesome and has made me a dedicated customer. So much so that I’ll keep looking when presented with knock-offs.

Side note: the official and historical version of the Lion of Flanders (as on the flag and coat of arms) should have red claws and a red tongue. Since the 70’s the all black Lion is associated with the separatist or radical nationalist Flemish groups.

I’m sure Mavic are not supporting the separatists.

Lovely! However, I’m not sure why they didn’t make them yellow instead of grey – that would fit BOTH Mavic’s branding and Flander’s flag!
