A number of interesting clothing bits have rolled through my inbox this past week. Podia have stitched up their first Merino jerseys. Alpinestars goes full lumberjack with their latest technical Andres riding shirt. And Adicta Lab partnered with Julien Absalon to develop a new premium clothing brand.
Podia Long Sleeve Merino Jersey
Polish clothing maker and road tour operator Podia just released their first Merino Wool long sleeve jersey. Made from a mid-weight 165 gram Sportwool merino blend, it balances the best of both natural & synthetic fibers. Merino handles comfort, insulation & odor resistance. While the polyester ensures durability and elasticity. I’m a sucker for wool jerseys this time of year!
The 135€ made-in-Europe long sleeve jersey gets reinforced & reflective edges around the 3+1 rear pocket layout. It is available now in a dark Navy Blue, with zip & stitching details in one of three contrasting colors – orange, olive green, or black.
Alpinestars Andres Tech Shirt riding flannel
The Andres Tech Shirt is a good bit more advanced than a first glance might suggest. The base is a quick-dry cotton/poly blend flannel. But it then gets features like a windproof liner inside across the chest and shoulders that make it a solid cool weather riding option.
The $100 Andres gets an anatomically curved riding cut, eyeleted vents under the arms, and printed on anti-wear reinforcement on the elbows. It also adds a water-resistant zip stash pocket in the back, and a snap-closure front patch pocket.
Adicta Lab cycling clothing
For the time being, all we really know about Adicta Lab is a that the new Swiss clothing upstart, and its veteran cycling apparel industry founder, have high aspirations of developing a premium cycling clothing brand focused on environmentally friendly and high-performance fabrics.
Beyond vague claims of ‘avant-garde’ styling, they have signed on one of the winningest pro mountain bikers in history. Julien Absalon will play a role in development, racing XC in new Adicta Lab kit this season, with the idea of having a consumer line ready in the second half of 2018.
