Dahon just sent over a bit of info on their forthcoming Formula S18, a high end and wicked fast looking folder.
Spec is impressive, as it should be for $1,399, with CNC machined crankarms, 18-speed Shimano Tiagra drivetrain, WTB wheels with stainless spokes and double wall rims wrapped with Schwalbe tires. Avid disc brakes round out the package. Frame has their magnetic bits to help hold it together while you secure the clamps. The telescoping handlebar post has a massive range of adjustment to fit just about any size rider, something we’ll put to the test when our demo bike arrives.

The new OHM Urban XU450 e-bike features the new SRAM E-Matic automatic shifting system, which automatically shifts to maintain the right amount of pedal effort, with a super clean, low-maintenance Gates Carbon Belt Drive. The hydroformed frame is low slung for easy step through, an important feature considering this model is aimed squarely at the US market.
From Pacific Cycles (the major OEM manufacturer we toured in Taipei, not that other one) comes the IFmove, a folding bike that promises to be the quickest, easiest bike there is. While info is limited until it’s official launch later this month, from the looks of it, we like that the stem becomes the handle and that it’ll roll on its own wheels when compacted. It’s the product of their in-house skunk works, which has shown they can make some pretty wild stuff!
Bioplanet is a new brand launching their first bike, a fully suspended e-bike with step through frame and pretty decent parts spec. The galvanized steel frame houses the battery and motor inside, with the 36V motor and 570Wh battery good for a max speed of 45km/h (up to 50km/h when pedaling). A thumb throttle is mounted on one side, a GripShift on the other, moving X7 9-speed parts through their paces. It has 180mm rotor hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, and DT Swiss wheels with Schwalbe tires. More info here.
BioLogic’s been making parts and accessories for various gadgets for a bit (like this killer seatpost bike pump!), so it was only a matter of time before they updated their phone case to handle the longer, thinner iPhone 5. It’s a hardshell, weatherproof case with ports for headphone and charging cables, letting you keep it topped off with something like their dynamo front hub. It’s more than just a rehash of the models for prior iPhones and Android phones – it has more robust locks and a sturdier mount system. It also gets perforations to allow use of the speakers, directing the waves through SoundPipe channels in the silicone liner to the front of the case.
Other little touches include a kickstand and a rotating mount so you can view it horizontally, too. Available now for $55.
