It is officially “spotted” season. The pros are sporting kits that aren’t yet available to the general public. It’s a fun game of “is that product new, or a cycling-god-one-off?” Our latest spot comes hot off the sighting of a new Fizik XC helmet, and it’s another Fizik product. This time, the leak came from the Team Movistar Instagram at the UAE Tour.

New Fizik Road Shoes

Fizik has a relatively extensive road race (and casual) footwear stable. The new design resembles a mix of two of my favorite shoes in the Fizik collab line.

First is the Mechanism PNS X Fizik shoe, that’s more of a full-on race shoe with a traditional boa setup and no additional arch support.

Second is the Vento Stabilita with Fizik Dynamic Arch Support 2.0. This shoe is more unique, double-down on Fizik’s take on arch support. The Vento Stabilita is a very lightweight shoe with a different retention and strapping system compared to the Mechanism.

I’ll Take Both

The new shoe in question combines both of those as mentioned above, but will Fizik add another spin to the mix? Maybe mix it up with new tech, as Specialized and Trek did with a slipper-like inner shoe, or will they stick to the traditional route?

Only time will tell; until then, keep a keen eye on Movistar (and other teams, like UAE Team Emirates) for some slipped posts on Instagram with new products.
