Designed with more adjustability, a stiff carbon front triangle, and input from their pro riders, the all-new 2023 GT Fury downhill bike gives you race-ready performance that’s perfectly at home in the bike park, too.

The frame comes in a sparkly Gloss Galaxy & Black finish with Sea Green logo on the carbon front, alloy rear, but only in Medium, Large, and XL sizes.

Behind the rocker arm’s rear pivot is the first flip chip that makes it MX compatible, so you can choose between a 29″ or 27.5″ rear wheel.

At the back, a flip chip rear axle mount letting you adjust chainstay length by 10mm. Chainstay changes from 440-450mm with 29er, and 435-445mm with 27.5″.

With 29er wheels, it delivers 200mm rear wheel travel from a high-pivot four-bar linkage sprung by a Rockshox Super Deluxe Coil Ultimate DH RC2. Swap to 27.5 and travel increases to 212mm.

Closer to the shock is another flip chip that lets you tune the progression without affecting geometry or travel. The more progressive setting keeps it more supple off the top for better small bump absorption, while the less progressive setting keeps it more linear so you can “pump” against the suspension more easily.

The new frame has a carbon front triangle that’s tuned for compliance, helping the bike work its way over the terrain without working you over, too. Internal rear brake and shift housing sneak around the steerer and into the top tube. The new design saves ~300g over the prior model.

Bump stops are cleanly integrated into the top tube to prevent the fork’s stanchions from smashing the frame.

GT also brought the weight lower and more to the center of the bike, but kept the high-pivot suspension with idler. Increased anti-squat helps you put more power into the ground during out-of-corner sprints, and increased anti-rise keeps things squishing like they should under hard braking.

GT Fury Pricing, Availability & Dream Build

Overall, reach is a bit longer and slacker. The new Fury will initially be sold only as a frameset with the rear shock for $2,600 ($3,500 CAD / £3,000 / €TBA), with two complete bikes coming later this year.

In the meantime, here’s the Dream Build edition from Gee Milner to inspire your own build.
