Visually, there’s a lot to like about the new Richey Schley edition iXS Trail RS mountain bike helmet. It’s smooth and rounded, drops deep behind the skull and has pretty big vents. Look closer and it gets even better.
It uses a dual in-mold construction, giving it a little extra protection on the bottom for when you drop it or shove it in a bag or trunk. The visor has a breakaway plastic screw in the center so it’ll flip up easily rather than yank your noggin backward. The rear dial retention mech is large and grippy, and it hooks up to dual density plastic bands that are softer on the outside where they rest against your skin.
UPDATE: US retail will be $120, and official claimed weight is 320g.
