Urban e-bike popularity is on the uptick in a big way. There are plenty of reasons why that’s true — not only are metropolitan environments on the rise but so are concerns over carbon emissions and boosting physical activity.

As with any cycling, riding in the city comes with certain risks unique to the style. And that’s why the gearheads at MET developed the Urbex bike helmet with MIPS technology.

The MET Urbex MIPS e-bike helmet is NTA (Dutch Technical Agreement) certified. NTA certification is the first safety standard globally that’s specific to e-bike equipment.  Being NTA certified means that the Urbex MIPS can dissipate more impact energy than your standard bike helmet. And according to MET, the helmet’s EPS shell covers 10% more area around the temples and back of the head than non-NTA EPS shells.

Another key ingredient to safe commuting is illumination. MET created a magnetized LED light that attaches to the upper back of the helmet.  The light is USB-C rechargeable, offers up to 6 hours of life per charge, and gives riders five settings to work with — steady, pulse, blinking, strobe, and a continuous blue “night-safe” mode.

Okay, now that we’ve covered the safety spiel, here’s what else the Urbex MIPS helmet offers.
