The collaboration between Ornot & Chapter2 started as a single road bike, but quickly turned into eight bikes ridden by Ornot ambassadors in matching kit. Now it goes another step further, as the Ornot x Chapter2 Tere Disc will be made available in a limited edition run together with Ornot’s Gray Ties clothing and gear line.

New Zealand frame builder Chapter2 tasked Ornot’s design team with creating a custom look for their new carbon road bike before its launch last summer. That quickly snowballed into developing a series of bikes that had 30mm tires stuck in them and were ridden by Ornot’s ambassadors to represent their own clothing & gear offerings this summer.

Now, after a ton of positive feed back on the bikes themselves and the unified look together with Ornot’s Gray Ties line, Ornot x Chapter2 will offer a limited edition run of 100 Tere Disc framesets in their matchy-matchy Gray Ties colors.

The Chapter2 Tere Disc is the same bike as we have detailed in the past, although we hadn’t yet seen images of the disc brake bike, even though it was said to be available from the start.  Chapter2 claims a weight of 1015g for the Tere Disc (M) and 425g for the uncut fork. The frameset features a tapered 1.5″ steerer, a pressfit BB86.5 bottom bracket, flat mount discs, 12mm thru-axles, and is compatible with electronic or mechanical shifting with modular internal cable routing.

Chapter2 says the Tere Disc clears 28mm tires, but Ornot has been riding it around California all summer sporting assorted 28 & 30mm rubber on and off tarmac on wide range of wheels.

Geometry for the disc brake bike appears to be mostly the same as the rim brake version, albeit with 3mm longer 408mm chainstays. The T700/800/3K carbon bike is available in the regular Chapter2 five size range (XS-XL) with size specific fork offset, and you can also select your desired stem length.

Those front center distances. Yikes. Was this bike designed for mouse feet?

VeloKitty- yeah, that’s the only thing I’m not a fan of. I have a Rere and absolutely love it but I’m still struggling to get used to a smidge of toe overlap. Beyond that, happy as a lark.

As someone who has a Chpt2 Tere with 30s, has size 46 feet, and has his cleats mounted almost as far back as I can get them…I’ve never had an issue clipping my toe on the front tire.
