Rotor is conducting a voluntary recall of their Agilis crankarms due to concerns about the tolerances in the first production batch.

PRODUCTS AFFECTED: EVO agilis Road Crankset (Compact and 130bcd) and Mtb (3×9 and 2×9) with serial number between 12,890 and 13,965, inclusive.Serial number is located on the right side of the rod, as shown in the picture. Subsequent rods purchased in stores worldwide from October 2008 to February 2009.

PROBLEM: The anodized section of the axle may develop a creaking noise and prematurely wear down.  They claim there is no safety issue, but as any rider knows, a small creak is a major annoyance.

WHAT TO DO: Return the crankset to your dealer, it’ll have to be removed and sent back to Rotor for inspection and repair.  You’ll be back on your bike in 30 to 45 days. (waa waa waaaaaaa)
