Recall on Felt Bicycles: Steerer Tube Fault

A potential fault has been identified with the aluminium steerer tubes on certain 2009 Felt bikes. Owners are advised to stop riding the bicycles immediately and contact their local Felt dealer for a free inspection and repair.

There have been seven reports of broken steerer tubes in the US, one resulting in minor injuries. So far there have been no reported incidents in the UK.

Affected models are the 2009 time trial / triathalon bikes, theB12, B16 and S32. Full details are:

  • 2009 B12: Gloss silver/carbon coloured carbon fibre frame, carbon fibre fork with aluminium steerer tube (US and Canada only – UK model has different fork)
  • 2009 B16: Matt black/red, carbon fibre frame, carbon fibre fork with aluminium steerer tube.
  • 2009 S32: Gloss white/red, aluminium frame, carbon fibre fork with aluminium steerer tube.
