Joining sister brand Astral with a new all-road wheelset is the Rolf Prima Ares4 AR, a wider rimmed wheelset with the brand’s signature pair spoke design. Also rolling on hubs made by parent brand White Industries, the AR series gives Rolf something between road and gravel. You know, for all the roads…

The wheels are built with 20 Sapim CX-Ray Bladed spokes per wheel, with a paired spoke pattern that they say lets them build with fewer spokes and lighter rims while still having the lateral stiffness and necessary strength. Despite the very light 1,510g wheelset weight, these have no rider weight limit.

The new rims are 25mm wide internal, 31mm external, and 40mm deep. The hubs use taller flanges where they can for improved bracing angles, and get the same titanium freehub body as White’s CLD hubs. They’re available in standard road spacing with thru axles or QR, with ceramic bearing upgrades available.

Designed to excel in everything from crits to gravel races, the Rolf Prima Ares4 AR wheels are meant to be your all-around, do anything drop bar wheelset with tires from 28mm up to 50mm wide. MSRP is $2,199, available now.

1500g for a 40mm height wheelset is “very light”? Maybe 5 years ago…

The image that shows the cross section with 25mm internal width and 31mm external width seems to show small bead hooks to me.
