ROUVY has officially acquired BKOOL, bringing another key player under its growing platform umbrella. While the terms weren’t disclosed, the impact is clear: ROUVY is posturing as a go-to destination for immersive, real-world route training, and it’s not slowing down.

With 250,000 subscribers and a growing list of partnerships and features, ROUVY’s trajectory has been pretty impressive. The platform’s unique angle (compared to Zwift, My Woosh, etc) is a sharp focus on blending virtual training with real-world routes, which has earned it a devoted global following. This acquisition (following FulGaz’s integration) extends ROUVY’s reach deeper into the European markets, where BKOOL has long been a household name in the smart trainer scene.

Expanding the Reality Ecosystem
This isn’t just about market share. BKOOL’s tech (specifically its GPX-to-3D route converter) integrates seamlessly with ROUVY’s Route Creator. This feature enhances ROUVY’s goal of creating a seamless bridge between outdoor riding and indoor motivation.
Plus, it’s a great way to prep for a race, especially if the course is an unknown to you. According to ROUVY co-founder and CEO Petr Samek, the acquisition is part of a bigger plan:
“BKOOL joining The ROUVY Group is a significant moment for indoor cycling fans everywhere. We aim to provide the best possible experiences, value, and riding options for riders around the world.”

What BKOOL Riders Need to Know
For now, BKOOL will continue to operate as a standalone brand under The ROUVY Group, much like FulGaz. ROUVY states that its immediate focus will be on platform stability and listening to its newly adopted community before making any significant changes.
“We’re in listening mode,” says Samek. “We want to learn what the BKOOL community values most before shaping the longer-term roadmap.”
BKOOL users can expect business as usual for the time being—with the added reassurance that their platform now has the backing of a more stable and well-resourced company.

Bigger Picture: A Connected Indoor Future
From virtual IRONMAN prep to exploring iconic climbs in the off-season, ROUVY’s mission is to blur the line between indoor training and outdoor adventure. Bringing BKOOL into the mix, along with FulGaz, stacks the deck with diverse features and fresh user insights, giving ROUVY more ways to innovate and deliver for every rider.
And with indoor riding showing no signs of slowing (I love it for its efficiency #parentlife), this acquisition looks less like a defensive move and more like a long-term play to lead the segment. We’ll have to watch and see what the future holds, but for those who love a “real-world indoor ride” to focus on while hitting intervals, this is excellent news.
