While their new Fox Live equipped Mach 5.5 might have been getting all the attention at Interbike, Pivot had another new option as a sneak peek for those in attendance. Fat bike season is approaching, so Pivot is getting ready with an all new build for their Les Fat.

The key to this build is the Swinger II dropout system which allowed Pivot to swap out the 26″ wheels in favor of the new 27.5 x 3.8 to 4.0″ fat bike wheels and tires. It would seem that the frame remains unchanged, though Pivot is set to release full details on the new bike next month.

To take advantage of the new wheel and tire option, the Les Fat will roll on Sun Ringle Mulefut 80 SL rims with Maxxis Minion FBF/FBR 3.8″ tires.

The complete bikes will be available either with a rigid carbon fork, or a Manitou Mastadon which will clear the 27.5″ fat tires.

The frame also still uses the 132mm press fit bottom bracket for a narrow q-factor that is compatible with 1x and 2x drivetrains and is single speed compatible.

Complete builds will likely be around $3,999, and frame kits will be offered in the future. Full details, geometry, and more will be released in October.
