This week, The Gravel Lot sits down with Jason Barron, the Executive Director of Cincinnati’s Red Bike bikeshare program. There’s a lot to talk about these days from the current state of bikeshares, to the proliferation of electric scooter shares, general transportation, and more.

We’re also in need of a bit of catch up after the Interbike crush. Since our last post, TGL has caught up with “The Bike Lawyer” Steve Magas to talk about the issues between bikes and motorists, trainer Aaron Lakanen, and the cycling family man behind the Lionhearts Junior Development program, Doug Dobrozsi. There’s also some bonus content from the Trek CXC live from Waterloo, WI!

In Chicago one of the bike share companies got mad at a local foundry because the bikes kept getting sold for their scrap value. Simply, not the foundries problem to watch for the bikes. I do not see how any other city would be exempt from the fact that addicts and homeless people will do what needs to be done, up to and including selling bikes (and any other metal object) for their value in weight.
