Wide, hookless carbon rims may have already been a part of Parcours’ lineup, but now you’ll be able to find it in 700c as well as 650b. Parcours has just launched a brand new version of its 700c carbon Alta gravel wheelset which also includes a new IMPACT+ carbon technology to protect against impacts.

The Alta lineup is Parcours’ off-the-beaten-path, go-anywhere wheel. Built from carbon on a wide, yet aerodynamic profile, they are meant to provide comfort, reliability, and speed even when taken off-road.

Parcours says the new Alta offerings are wider and stronger than previous models, and able to accommodate a significant range of tires ranging from 28mm road tires all the way up to 55mm off-road options.

The Alta has a hookless design with an internal rim width of 24mm. The external width comes in at 33mm, along with 36mm of depth. The previous 700c model had an internal rim width of 21.5mm, external width of 29mm, and a depth of 35mm.

The brand also offers the Alta in a 650b option for riders who want even more cushion and grip from their wheels.

The new Alta uses IMPACT+ technology to strengthen the wheel. Impact+ uses a flexible resin at the edge of the rim to protect against big hits from rocks and roots, especially while running tires at lower pressure.

Parcours says that IMPACT+ is soon coming to the 650b model as well.

Wheelsets are available with several freehub options including Shimano 11- and 12-speed, SRAM 11-speed and XDR, and Campagnolo 11-, 12-, and N3W 13-speed.

The front wheel has a claimed weight of 685 grams, while the rear weighs 815 grams.

They come with Sapim CX-Ray spokes (28 on each wheel), and Parcours Disc Centerlock hubs for an MSRP of $1,199.

All wheelsets include a tubeless kit and lifetime warranty for any defects related to manufacturing or workmanship.

I can only comment on my experience, but Parcours have produced a cracking [great] wheelset. I’ve the 650b option with the Son dynamo for bikepacking and they’ve stood up to some hard treatment and their customer service is better than other similar brands.
