Back in June, we learned that Industry Nine had acquired the Canadian rim manufacturer We Are One Composites. While they have already collaborated in the past, this strategic acquisition has created a new, formal partnership that merges two brands committed to North American manufacturing. Since then, both companies have continued to produce the quality products they are known for while operating from their respective homes in Kamloops, BC, and Asheville, NC.
Today, we learned of one of the first steps in the shared vision of this new partnership, as Industry Nine is now selling the full lineup of We Are One’s Convergence rims. This includes seven different rim models covering the spectrum of mountain bike disciplines, gravel, and bikepacking, all built with the unique “sinuous” profile that Covergence rims are known for. All of them are sold as complete wheelsets with Industry Nine’s excellent Hydra2, Solix, or 1/1 hubs, or as a rim-only option to build your own.

Convergence Rims
If you’re not already familiar, We Are One’s Convergence rims have been around for a few years and feature a unique design with a “sinuous” profile. The wavy shape of the rim is designed to enhance the alignment of both the inner and outer rim walls with the spokes and nipples, with the goal of reducing stress and increasing strength at this critical junction. The claimed performance benefits include a stronger, more durable rim that reduces trail chatter and rider fatigue, thereby “giving the rider more control and speed.” If you’ve got a few minutes to spare, the tech talk video below explains it all quite clearly.
Convergence Series Models
We Are One’s Convergence Series of carbon rims covers every style of mountain biking, as well as gravel and even bikepacking. All of them feature the hallmark sinuous profile, but with varying carbon layups and dimensions to suit their respective purposes. The Convergence rim models are listed below. Head to the Industry Nine or We Are One websites for detailed descriptions and specifications for each. All wheelsets start at $1,850 with Hydra2 hubs (Solix for the Whisp and Revive 2.0) or $1,595 with 1/1 hubs.
