It’s the weekend and Chapter2 has launched a limited edition version of their aero RERE frame in celebration of the 101 Giro d’Italia. The $3,500 frameset includes an FSA No.42/ACB headset, PF BB86.5, uncut fork and seatpost. Above all, it’s detailed with pink pinstripes to commemorate the Maglia Rosa leader’s jersey. Quantities are limited to just 15 frames, so they’re likely to go fast if they haven’t already done so.

ABUS shrinks their Bordo lock

The German lock maker ABUS is well known around the world for their efforts in bicycle security. One of their go-to bike locks is the Bordo, a burly lock that made up of interlocking metal bars. The new Bordo Lite Mini gets the same snap closure, folding link design and silicon covered body for a frame safe applications. Its security rating is level 7:15 and it’s available in 60cm ($60) and 85cm ($70) lengths.

COROS unplugs for the long haul

Cycling tech brand COROS – previously known for their smart helmets – recently launched the PACE smartwatch. It’s a GPS fueled multi-sport accessory that’s designed for riding, running and swimming. The $300 watch features an integrated heart rate monitor, barometer for accurate elevation recording, UltraSync Technology reduces data transfer time and the COROS app which lets users customize their data for their activity. Plus, its rechargeable battery will last up to 30 days or up to 25 hours while GPS is on and charges through a USB clip. They’re currently available in 3 colors – red, blue, and black – and found on Amazon along with a number of independent retailers.

WTB seats raise money for mountain biking

WTB partnered with NorCal Cycling League for a special release of the Volt 142 saddle. A portion of each sale goes to the Buddy Newman Scholarship Fund that helps cover mountain bike race fees for high school riders. The $130 saddle has titanium rails, WTB’s medium padding, a concave shape, 142mm width and an uplifted back end. It’s designed for cross country, all mountain, enduro and even road riding.

Mavic recently launched the limited edition Allure collection. The group is designed around French cycling culture and includes a jersey ($120), bibs ($160), Cosmic High socks ($20), Cosmic Pro shoes ($295) and cap ($35). The jersey has a race fit, bonded torso and sleeve hems, silicone grippers on the tail end, a full front zip and mesh sleeves. The bibs have Mavic’s new Ergo 3D Pro insert, antibacterial fabric, elastic shoulder straps, flatlock seams, and a 9.5″ inseam. Sizes for the jersey and bibs range from S – XL. Their Cosmic Pro shoes have the Mavic Ergo Dial retaining system, synthetic microfiber upper, laser cut pin holes for ventilation, an Energy carbon sole, and weigh in at 260g/shoe. Sizes range from 7UK – 11UK. The Cosmic high socks are permanently antimicrobial and reinforced toe and heel boxes for longevity while the cap has a lightweight polyester build and elastic headband.
