If you’re planning that epic adventure ride that combines mixed surfaces, the likelihood of mixed weather, and goodness knows what else, tire selection becomes one of those things that keep you up at night. WTB’s trying to calm that monkey mind a bit with the new Resolute 42, a new tire with low knob height and well spaced blocks to work on anything you ride over. Or through…
The Resolute 42 comes in 700c and 650b sizes, both at 42mm wide, and is designed for use on rims with 23mm internal width. They say that combination provides the optimal tire profile, sidewall support and traction.
Claimed weights and prices are 460g / $54.95 for 700c, and 440g / $51.95 for 650b. The side knobs are buttressed, and others are ramped, with an overall knob height that helps keep them rolling fast while still being able to grab mixed surfaces. Center knobs use a 1-2-1-2 pattern with tighter spacing, then the rest get more spread out and offset to clear the muck.
Both sizes only come in their Fast & Light casing for now, both with tan sidewalls, and are (of course) tubeless ready.
