In a sure sign that carbon wheels are the future, and even more so that carbon production quality has improved dramatically over the past decade or so, NEXT is offering FREE rim replacement on their carbon wheels for life to their original owner. If you buy a set of carbon wheels from them and break the rim for any reason, you can ship the wheel back to NEXT, they’ll replace a new rim up for you, and ship it back to you for free. Can’t beat that.

NEXT cycling lifetime carbon rim replacement warranty

We thought the two-year, no-cost replacement program we heard about from Bontrager last week was a great move towards making that jump to carbon wheels a bit easier to commit to. But it seems NEXT has taken it one giant step further.

To simply quote NEXT, “We believe our wheels are among the finest built, best performing wheels you can buy at any price. We want you to ride our wheels every time you head out and not worry or save them for special occasions.”

So for 2019 they’ve made the blanket decision to put their money where their mouth is, with the best carbon rim warranty that exists in the industry – free carbon rims for life.

Simple, if you ever break one of their carbon rims, send it back to them, and they will replace the rim, rebuild the wheel & return ship it FOR FREE. No questions asked. That all sounds great, but the even better part is that this new warranty is retroactive to wheels you have already bought from NEXT. “No prorated value, no exclusions, no questions asked.” I’m pretty sure that will make a lot of new carbon wheel buying decisions a lot easier.

If and when you do break one of their wheels from now on, NEXT has a helpful set of instructions to get you rolling again on their website. Hint: clean your wheel, or they promise to return it repaired, but covered in Vermont’s finest cow manure.

Eh, they lose out on <$100 For the rim and labor. How often do rims break now a days with all the fat tire cushioning?

Shame they dont offer just rims. I’m looking at lacing up a PT disc hub I got for free for XC use and would dig a warranty on the rims they have which would be a good fit for my application.

Very understandable that a manufacturer would not guarantee a wheel built by a user, just like bike brands won’t guarantee bikes not assembled by a bike shop. The assurance that they are built correctly is an obvious concern to them.

As a consumer this sounds great, but in reality the company will bank crap sooner or later just like MadFiber ,it’s a simply fact, so I won’t put my money on a lifetime warranty brand but you don’t know how long they can survive.

for the $1400 they are charging you can get Chinese OEM wheelset with DT240 hub and 4-5 pairs of extra rims. Now that should last a lifetime.

Purchased a set in January 2016. I have 16,000+ miles of Flint Hills gravel and ~two dozen gravel races on them at this point. I broke a spoke nipple a couple of weeks ago. Other than that, I haven’t touched them. Nice to know about the warranty, but I’m guessing I won’t get to capitalize on the offer.

use it for 10k more miles then find a large pothole, deflate the tire and sprint full speed, enjoy your new rim

its not free… just checked their website. Its $250 and they say they will split the return postage with you.

” For a flat fee of $250, and we get you back on our wheels, looking good. And we split the shipping with you cause that’s fair”
