Parents are often faced with quick obsolescence of strollers and kids’ toys, but Doona is seeking to end that with their transforming Liki Trike. With five different modes, it converts from a stroller – all the way to a fully-functional tricycle… and even folds up completely for storage or airline travel.

While the concept of adjustable or transforming kids’ bikes isn’t new, Doona has a very interesting concept with their Liki Trike. Doona claims that it’s the smallest folding trike on the market, and will easily fit inside an airplane overhead bin when fully folded. As a bonus, it comes fully assembled in the box, and can accommodate children from ages 10 months to three years.

The trike is made from fiber-reinforced polymers and aluminum, and features a 5-point harness, a cup holder, and a sun canopy with UPF 50+ protection. The five adjustment modes include: Parent mode, Push mode, Tricycle mode, Bike mode, and Folded.

Weight of the Liki Trike is 14.7 pounds, with a maximum payload of 44.1 lbs. Folded dimensions are 12.5 x 23.6 x 9.1″, with a fully unfolded size of 36.8 x 19.6 x 40.4″. The S3 version comes in at $250, with the S5 at $300 (featuring wooden handlebars and a travel bag).

Wow, that’s heavy, expensive, and complicated.
