Looking to send it into the new year, Fabio Wibmer just announced he is switching teams. Previously supported by two different bike brands (one for his Enduro & DH bike and the other for his Trials bike), Fabio will now be on a single brand – Canyon Bikes.

The move draws parallels to Danny MacAskill’s move from two brands to one, with Santa Cruz stepping up to create a one-off street trials bike just for him. That seems to be what’s happening with Fabio and Canyon as Fabio’s facebook page highlights two of his new bikes.

On the enduro side, Fabio’s new Canyon Torque looks to be the current frame, but with a custom build using his sponsor’s parts. That includes Ohlins suspension, SQlab cockpit parts, Magura brakes, and a SRAM drivetrain.

It’s the street trials bike that is particularly interesting since Fabio mentions it is a first prototype. Will that mean Canyon will eventually offer it for sale to their customers? Or will this remain a custom bike just for Fabio? While that remains to be seen, it does appear to be similar to his previous set up with 24″ wheels and tires. We can’t wait to see the incredible lines Fabio links together with this!

Oh man, Canyon should definitely release that trials bike. It looks aluminum and probably tons cheaper to make then the Santa Cruz carbon trials frame.
Just make that exact bike/spec and take our money!!! 😉

I don’t ride trials, but I do ride a Canyon. Happy for one of the craziest guys on two wheels to be cruising a Canyon.

I absolutely believe Canyon will sell this street trials bike to all the customers as it is a very feasible idea. Moreover, alu is cheap to build when already designed unlike Danny’s carbon bike.
