Looking for a clean, environmentally and aesthetically friendly way to hang your bike inside the house? The Grassracks Rackcycle has you covered, with a shelf and hooks to handle accessories, too. The flush-mounted design has padded arms to cradle your bike, so it won’t get scratched during storage.

The rack comes with all hardware needed for assembly, and basically slots together and attaches to a single piece of wood bolted to the wall (just line it up with the studs for the most secure installation).

The top shelf keeps small items like keys, wallet, bars or gels, and bottles on hand. Hooks below keep your cycling jacket, helmet, pack and larger items close by, too. The thin prongs should work with most frames, including many full suspension mountain bikes.

So I think I missed how this is environmentally friendly? If you are going to claim it to pull at people’s emotions then please at least give some veiled BS as to how this is good for the environment.

Bamboo is considered a highly renewable resource. it only takes 3-5 years for it to be full grown. I think that is the argument they are trying to make. I remember hearing somewhere that bamboo can grow up to 3 feet in one day in ideal conditions.

I assume it’s that it’s bamboo. Generally easy to grow, grows quick. Extremely, extremely renewable resource.

Hey Jeff,

I’m Andrew from Grassracks. Thanks for your comments and interest in how our products are sustainable! Our bamboo racks are made from 100% bamboo, which is a material that grows significantly faster than trees. It can be re-harvested indefinitely, and often. It also sequesters CO2 and produces 30% more Oxygen compared to an equivalent mass of trees.

In addition to the eco-friendliness of bamboo, we also work hard to make sure our entire product from start to finish is earth friendly. We minimize material waste by making small products like rings and bamboo bowties that can be made from our waste material. The finish we use for our bamboo racks is made from a bi-product of making cheese and has no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s). We use as little hardware as possible and our vertical freestanding racks use no hardware at all. Additionally, our hardware bags are made from biodegradable paper, not plastic. We also use minimal packing materials and what we do use is paper so it can be re-used or recycled.

And don’t worry about our fury Panda friends. There are over 1000 species of bamboo and Pandas don’t eat the same species that are used for product and building materials. You can check out our website for more information. Thanks again Jeff!
